General Questions
- Q:
- Why use a recruiter?
- A:
- LaSalle Network has access to job opportunities that are not listed on job boards or company websites. Recruiters are involved in a broad range of business relationships and networks dedicated to connecting qualified talent with open career opportunities. Many of our clients solely use LaSalle Network to identify candidates for their permanent and temporary-to-hire positions due to the relationships that we have developed over the years; thus, LaSalle Network can be your advocate - opening doors, giving career advice and overcoming objections for you.
- Q:

- A:
- LaSalle Network offers temporary, temporary-to-permanent and permanent opportunities in all areas and industries of Accounting and Finance, Technology, Administrative, Call Center, Human Resources and Executive Search. A temporary-to-permanent assignment is a time for both the client and Field Employee to “interview” each other to determine whether it is an ideal long-term fit. Permanent employment occurs when the candidate is hired directly onto our client’s payroll.

In order for an absence or tardy to be excused, Field Employees are required to report their absence or tardy by calling the LaSalle Network office at least one hour prior to their starting time. If the Field Employee is unavailable when such contact is made, the Field Employee must return the call or stop in the LaSalle Network office within 24-hours.
Field Employees that will be late to work must also provide an estimated time of arrival. If a Field Employee will not be working his/her entire shift (leaving early) for any reason, the Field Employee is required to notify LaSalle Network (via telephone or e-mail) within one hour of leaving the worksite; this includes if the client is sending the Field Employee home early.
If a Field Employee has a scheduled court date, the Field Employee is required to provide a minimum of 48-hours notice to LaSalle Network.

- Do you accept faxed timecards?
- A:
- Yes, we do accept faxed timecards, but we require that the original timecard is also mailed to our office. Paper timecards may be dropped off at any of our office locations or mailed with a postmark no later than Saturday. Please be sure to include Suite 2400 if mailing your timecard to the Chicago office to ensure prompt delivery.
- Q:
- When are timecards due?
- A:
- All timecards, paper and online, are due no later than 6:00 p.m. Monday evening for the previous week's work. Please submit your timecard every week so we can avoid delayed payment and billing.
- Q:
- How often will I get paid?
- A:
-
On a weekly basis, every Friday.
- Q:
- What happens if I misplace my paper timecard?
- A:
- LaSalle Network is not responsible for lost/late timecards. Supervisors are not responsible for submitting your timecards; it is your responsibility to make sure your timecards are submitted on time. Failure to do so will result in delayed payment. If you misplace your timecard, you will need to complete and submit another one. If you submit your timecard after Monday at 6:00 p.m., your check will not be processed until the following week.
- Q:
- Will you accept a timecard without a supervisor’s signature?
- A:
-
Paper timecards are ONLY valid with a signature from BOTH the Supervisor and Field Employee. Online timecards must be approved by the supervisor.
- Q:
- If my tax paperwork is not complete, can I still get paid?
- A:
- No, we cannot pay a Field Employee that has not completed both the State and Federal W-4 forms.
- Q:
- Should I write the exact time I worked on my timecard?
- A:
-
On both paper and online timecards, your START, FINISH and LUNCH should be rounded to the nearest quarter hour.
Example:
- Incorrect Timesheet:
- 8:35 a.m. – 6:40 p.m. less lunch 25 = 9.40
- Correct Timesheet:
- 8:30 a.m. – 6:45 p.m. less lunch 30 mins = 9hr 45mins
- Q:
- When submitting a paper timecard, what do I do with all the timecard copies?
- A:
-
Paper timecards include four pages:
- “Office Copies” - (White Copies) - Both copies should be turned into LaSalle Network
- “Client Copy” - (Yellow Copy) - Should be given to your supervisor
- “Employee Copy” - (Pink Copy) - Should remain in your possession for future reference
- Q:
- What if I need to change the time on my timecard?
- A:
-
If for some reason you change the time on your paper timecard, please make sure your supervisor approves and initials your time change on all four copies.
- Q:
- Online: I accidently submitted my time and it’s incorrect.
- A:
-
If you are submitting an online timecard, you will need to submit a second timecard with the correct time. Your supervisor will then need to reject the original online timecard and approve the correct timecard online.
- Q:
- If I change residences, do I need to inform LaSalle Network?
- A:
- Yes, you can log into the Candidate Portal on LaSalle’s website and change this information yourself. If you are unable to change your address online, please inform your Project Manager of any address changes immediately via e-mail. Even if the term of your project assignment has ended, please contact us with these important changes to ensure the receipt of your W-2 at the end of the year.
- Q:
- When can I pick-up my paycheck?
- A:
- During non-holiday weeks, checks will be ready for pick-up at 8:00 a.m. on Fridays. Please Note: If you DO NOT specify your “Mail/Hold” preference on the timesheet, your check will be mailed.
- Q:
- What happens if my paycheck gets lost in the mail?
- A:
- In the event that your check is lost in the mail, LaSalle Network can issue you a check at anytime. However, LaSalle asks that Field Employees wait 10 business days before requesting another check, as lost checks are normally located in that time period. If a Field Employee cannot wait 10 days, LaSalle can reissue a check, however, there will be a $25 Bank Service Fee deducted from your reissued check to compensate for the cost of placing a Stop Payment on your lost check. All Field Employees receiving reissued checks must come into one of our office locations and sign an Affidavit, stating that they did not receive their paycheck and that if they were to cash said paycheck, they will be held liable. To avoid lost checks, resulting in delayed payment, LaSalle Network encourages enrolling in our direct deposit option.
- Q:
- What are the benefits to enrolling in direct deposit?
- A:
-
No check to pick up. No trip to the bank. Immediate access to your money.
- Q:
- Is there anything else I should know about getting paid?
- A:
- Yes, be sure to include the last four digits of your social security number on your timesheets to ensure faster payment.
