LaSalle Network CEO, Tom Gimbel, Inducted into Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame at 25th Anniversary Gala elebration
Chicago, IL, February 26, 2010 – Founder and CEO of LaSalle Network, Tom Gimbel, was inducted into the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame at the 25th annual Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame Awards gala on Thursday, February 25, 2010. The awards, sponsored by Grant Thornton, American Chartered Bank, Crain’s Chicago Business, Allscripts, and the University of Illinois at Chicago, represent the most innovative and influential entrepreneurs in Chicago’s seven-county area.
In 1998, Gimbel launched LaSalle Network, a $20 million Chicago-based professional staffing and recruiting firm. Since their inception, LaSalle Network has opened two satellite offices in Schaumburg and Oakbrook and has served over 2,000 clients and placed over 15,000 candidates in temporary, temporary to permanent and direct hire positions. With 600 percent growth since 2001, LaSalle was ranked on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America List in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
“So often, people get stuck in jobs that pay well, rather than doing something they’re passionate about,” Gimbel says, “but that’s not enough to keep a business going. If there’s no passion, there’s no motivation, no drive to succeed. And eventually, it just all fizzles out.”
Gimbel believes hiring passionate employees is the key to success. His philosophy is centered on the belief that companies attract good employees by retaining good employees. “Staff retention is the number one reason our company has grown,” says Gimbel. In order to retain employees and keep them passionate, Gimbel emphasizes showing appreciation for excellent performance, creating a fun work environment, and ensuring that employees feel a personal connection with senior management.
“For the last 25 years, the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame has been a staple in Chicago’s business community,” said Stefanie Lenway, dean of the UIC College of Business Administration. ” In today’s challenging economic times, entrepreneurial and innovative business leaders, like the Class of 2010, are essential to getting our economy moving forward again and are further proof that even in the toughest times, through hard work, creativity and dedication, you can succeed in business. On behalf of the CBA, I congratulate the Class of 2010.”
