LaSalle Network increased internal headcount by more than 40 percent over the last 12 months, and its Learning & Development department provided employees over 1,000 training hours. Further, nearly 30 percent of employees earned a promotion in the last 12 months, with 25 percent being within management.

12-MONTH REVIEW

VETERAN HIRING:

This year, LaSalle Network continued to support veterans with its veteran hiring initiative, LaSalle Veteran Network, helping hundreds of veterans this year. This program is dedicated to helping veterans transition from military service to civilian careers and helping companies build out their teams with veteran talent. Led by Christian Cañas, LaSalle Network’s Director of Operations and Army veteran, LaSalle Network has hosted webinars and published reports to better assist companies hiring veterans, and for veteran job seekers.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND BELONGING (DEB) COMMITTEE:

The DEB committee was created to celebrate the differences that make each LaSallian unique, and to provide educational opportunities where authentic conversations are fostered and an environment of acceptance, inclusion and belonging is cultivated.

Some events hosted by the DEB committee this year include:

  • Education on cultural holidays led by employees at company-wide meetings
  • A panel event moderated by LaSalle Network CHRO, Sirmara Campbell, on DEI/DEB support within the workforce with two Chicago leading HR executives
  • LGBTQ+ education including pride flag education, trivia on notable LGBTQ+ people and history, and a company-wide panel event with three LaSalle employees who are part of the LGBTQ+ community for a conversation about their experiences being LGBTQ+

The DEB committee has also partnered with low-income neighborhoods to support in various ways, such as fundraising to provide homeless shelters with “housewarming” baskets full of essential items, fundraising for a backpack drive that supports children in foster care and low-income family homes, as well as painting an after-school facility in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood.

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT:

LaSalle Network hosted two-day offsite retreats for various groups of LaSallians to join the executive management team for days filled with group activities, educational sessions on sales, leadership and recruiting, and quality time with LaSalle Network leaders and external subject matter experts.

CULTURE:

With company culture at the cornerstone of LaSalle’s values, continuing to create ways to keep LaSallians connected remained a priority.

In celebration of reaching its highest revenue in company history, LaSalle Network employees – from office assistants to C-level executives – went on a company-wide incentive trip to Las Vegas in which the company chartered a private plane for travel to and from. The weekend included flights, stay at the Aria, meals, drinks and entertainment.

To celebrate 24 years in business, LaSalle Network hosted its annual LaSallemas week full of surprises, activities and competitions with the entire company flown in from across the country. Activities included sunrise yoga on Chicago’s riverwalk, a scavenger hunt associated with LaSalle history and fun facts, a bring-your-kids-to-work day, a Segway tour in downtown Chicago with the entire management team, and much more. This all culminated to a party at two venues with food, drinks, entertainment and the revealing of honorees for LaSalle’s biggest awards. Read more on these awards here.
