As an OT Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing a new OT infrastructure from the ground up. This greenfield project offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our client’s operational technology environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT and business stakeholders, to ensure the development of a robust, scalable and secure OT framework. This position can be located in Oak Brook, IL or Toronto, ON.
OT Solutions Architect Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of the OT architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices
- Develop and document detailed architectural plans, including system components, interfaces and integration points
- Manage the end-to-end implementation of the greenfield OT program, including planning, execution and testing
- Oversee the selection and integration of OT technologies, ensuring they meet performance, security and reliability requirements
- Engage with stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements and ensure the OT solutions meet their needs
- Facilitate workshops and presentations to communicate design concepts, progress and changes
- Ensure that the OT solutions adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements and organizational policies
- Implement best practices for cybersecurity, data privacy and operational resilience
- Stay abreast of emerging OT technologies and trends, incorporating relevant advancements into the architecture
- Identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement within the OT environment
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure the OT infrastructure remains secure and effective
OT Solutions Architect Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience as an OT Solutions Architect or in a similar role with a focus on greenfield projects
- Strong knowledge of OT systems, including SCADA, DCS, PLCs and IoT devices
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, ProfiBus)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and frameworks relevant to OT environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Project management experience is a plus
