As a Philanthropic Writer, you will play a key role in developing engaging content that communicates our client’s mission, programs and impact to donors, stakeholders and the broader community. The ideal candidate will have a talent for storytelling and a deep understanding of how to convey the importance of philanthropic support.
Philanthropic Writer Responsibilities:
- Write persuasive and impactful content for a variety of platforms, including grant proposals, donor reports, newsletters, website copy and social media
- Develop compelling narratives that highlight the success stories of individuals and communities impacted by our client’s programs
- Work closely with fundraising, program and communications teams to gather information, understand key messages and produce content that aligns with our client’s organizational goals
- Conduct research to support grant writing and other fundraising initiatives, ensuring accuracy and relevance of information
- Review and edit content for clarity, consistency and adherence to organizational style and tone
Philanthropic Writer Requirements:
- Proven experience as a writer or content creator, preferably in the nonprofit sector or with a focus on philanthropy
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with a portfolio demonstrating your ability to craft persuasive and engaging content
- Strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising and the role of philanthropy in driving social change
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
This opportunity will be a W-2 contract and candidates must be willing to work a range between 20-40 hours a week. We ask that interested candidates be based in the Chicagoland area as this organization operates on CST and has an office in the Loop.
