They are seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join their accounting team. This role involves working closely with investment partners on property financials, handling transactions across multiple entities and performing consolidations and reporting at the fund level. You will play a key part in maintaining the financial integrity of their portfolio and supporting the firm’s growth. The role is budgeted for $90,000-$100,000 plus bonus. This team works in the office on a hybrid basis (Tuesday through Thursday) in the Chicago Loop.
Senior Fund Accountant Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with investment partners to review and analyze property-level financials
- Handle transactions and intercompany reconciliations across multiple entities
- Perform fund-level consolidation and financial reporting
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Assist in coordinating audits and tax filings with external auditors
- Support cash flow forecasting and budgeting activities
- Participate in ongoing process improvements and automation initiatives
Senior Fund Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting (audit or tax) or fund accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, consolidations and fund-level reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively
