Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with the Managing Director to manage day-to-day accounting functions and deliver comprehensive financial reporting for their family office investors.
This role offers a base compensation between $90-100,000 per year, based on experience, and operates fully in-office in Skokie, Illinois.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Maintain and prepare books and records for family office investors, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts and preparing monthly financial packages
- Analyze investment performance, including fair market value assessments, IRR calculations and cash-on-cash analysis
- Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual financial analysis, identifying variances and summarizing financial activities
- Ensure timely and accurate accounting work to meet company deadlines
- Execute moderate to complex financial analyses, developing applications and tools for reporting needs
- Undertake ad hoc analysis and special accounting projects as required
- Implement procedures to enhance financial and operational efficiencies
- Drive change initiatives to improve financial outcomes and respond to complex inquiries
- Communicate effectively with family office investors, providing necessary information and support
- Perform additional tasks to assist family office clients as needed
Senior Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred but not required
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word; experience with Sage Intacct preferred. Familiarity with Yardi, QuickBooks or Quicken is a plus
- Discretion in handling proprietary information
