We have been engaged by a leading food organization for a Senior Site Director who will lead and manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations for a large-scale manufacturing facility. This senior leadership position is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, safety, quality and efficiency while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

The Senior Site Director will oversee production, quality control, maintenance, supply chain and personnel management, aligning operations with the company’s strategic goals and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires an experienced leader with a strong background in food manufacturing, ideally in perishable products, who can take full ownership of the site’s performance, foster a positive culture and drive profitability and sustainability.

Senior Site Director  Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality and safety
  • Ensure the facility operates at optimal efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality
  • Develop and execute operational strategies to meet production goals, customer demand and business objectives
  • Manage budgets, optimize cost-efficiency and ensure the facility meets financial targets
  • Lead regular operational reviews, evaluate plant performance and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Provide strong, hands-on leadership to a multidisciplinary team, including production managers, supervisors, quality assurance, maintenance and support staff
  • Develop and mentor plant leadership, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement
  • Ensure effective communication across all levels of the facility and act as the primary liaison between site leadership and corporate leadership
  • Lead recruitment, training and talent development to build a high-performing team that aligns with company values
  • Drive continuous improvement programs, utilizing Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies to enhance plant efficiency, reduce waste and improve product quality
  • Identify and implement new technologies, processes and systems that can improve plant performance and drive innovation
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies within the food/dairy sector to maintain a competitive edge
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure raw material availability, optimize inventory management and reduce lead times
  • Oversee outbound logistics, ensuring products are delivered on time and in compliance with customer specifications
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Develop and execute long-term strategies to grow the business and improve the facility’s operational capabilities
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership to align plant objectives with company-wide goals and priorities
  • Report regularly on plant performance, including key metrics such as production efficiency, cost per unit, downtime and employee productivity

Senior Site Director  Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with 5+ years in a leadership role within a food, dairy or beverage manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale production facilities, including P&L responsibility
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proficient in using ERP systems, production planning software and other industry-specific technology tools
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate, inspire and develop large teams
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with corporate leadership
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to implement both short-term operational solutions and long-term business strategies
