LaSalle Network has partnered with a startup Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) and Wealth Management firm committed to delivering personalized wealth management solutions. Our client is looking to hire a Head of Business Development to drive the growth strategy, accelerate organic revenue growth and lead client acquisition efforts.

As the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow the firm’s client base and expand partnerships with institutions and individuals. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the wealth management industry, strong leadership capabilities and a proven track record in business development, particularly within an RIA or financial services environment.

Head of Business Development Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development plan to drive revenue growth, enhance market presence and increase Assets Under Management (AUM)
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals, families and institutional clients. Lead efforts in client onboarding and ensure long-term client retention through exceptional service
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with financial planners, accountants, estate attorneys and other professionals who can refer potential clients
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape and emerging opportunities to adapt business development strategies and stay ahead of market shifts
  • Lead the business development team, providing mentorship, setting targets and driving performance. Collaborate with marketing, operations and investment teams to align on overall company objectives
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and establish a strong market presence
  • Leverage modern technology platforms to improve business development processes, track leads and provide clients with a seamless, high-touch experience
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of business development initiatives and ensure alignment with the firm’s growth goals

Head of Business Development Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in BD, client acquisition or sales leadership
  • 5+ years’ experience in the RIA, Financial Services, Venture Capital or Investment Management space
  • Must have experience in a startup or high-growth environment
  • In-depth understanding of the wealth management industry, financial planning services and regulatory requirements for RIAs
  • Proven ability to lead and scale a business development team, with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach
  • Strong networking skills with a robust existing network of potential clients, financial professionals and industry influencers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Ability to leverage data and analytics to drive decision-making and refine growth strategies
