Our client located Nashville is in need of a Tax Director. Their ideal candidate will possess a CPA license and is accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role requires effective communication and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with other team members to achieve shared goals and expand knowledge.
Tax Director Responsibilities:
- Review, oversee and prepare complex income tax returns, including but not limited to corporations, partnerships and individual returns
- Ensure quality control for all financial statements
- Manage and oversee the facilitation, planning and compliance of international tax matters, including waivers and tax return preparation
- Supervise the review and execution of required estimated tax payments
- Develop, maintain and ensure adherence to financial and tax reporting policies and procedures
- Review and oversee key processes, including year-end shareholder bonus distributions, tax preparation work papers and investment reconciliations, calculation and distribution of W-2s and 1099s, tax correspondence, audits and tax audit facilitation and quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
- Facilitate the creation and dissolution of entities, including the preparation of Articles of Incorporation, organizational documents, FEIN applications and 2553 filings
- Provide training and development for the Accounting and Business Management teams on best tax-related business practices
- Ensure the timely filing of annual reports, franchise tax returns and other state filings
- Prepare and review invoices for tax services rendered
- Supervise tax staff, ensuring efficient operations within their assigned teams
- Complete ad hoc projects as assigned by the Managing Tax Director or Executive team
Tax Director Requirements:
- Ability to reliably commute to the Nashville office
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics with a strong academic background
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred
- Experience providing financial and tax services for high-net-worth individuals or working in a business management firm
- 10+ years of experience in tax practice, including 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Active CPA license in California or Tennessee
