Our client located Nashville is in need of a Tax Manager. Their ideal candidate will possess a CPA license and is accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role requires effective communication and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with other team members to achieve shared goals and expand knowledge.
Tax Manager Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex income tax returns, including but not limited to corporations, S corporations, partnerships, exempt organizations and individual returns
- Assist in the quality control review of tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Support planning and compliance for international tax matters, including waivers and tax return preparation
- Oversee and review the preparation of quarterly tax projections, ensuring communication of required estimated tax payments
- Assist in the review and oversight of year-end shareholder bonus processes
- Maintain and ensure adherence to financial and tax reporting policies and procedures
- Assign, track and manage tasks and projects for the tax staff
- Oversee and assist in the review of 1099 reporting
- Prepare and review tax correspondence and facilitate the management of tax audits and notices
- Oversee entity creation and dissolution procedures, including obtaining Articles of Incorporation, organizational documents, FEIN applications and 2553 filings
- Provide support to the team on tax software-related questions
- Assist in the review of annual reports, franchise tax returns and other state filings
- Aid in client invoicing for tax services rendered
Tax Manager Requirements:
- Ability to reliably commute to and report at the Nashville office
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics with a strong academic background
- Experience with QuickBooks and Excel
- Active CPA license
- Proficiency in tax software and related technology
- 7+ years of experience in a tax practice
