Buyer Responsibilities:
- Source, evaluate and select suppliers to procure goods and services in alignment with company goals
- Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and meet deadlines
- Issue purchase orders and ensure timely receipt of goods and services
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers
- Address and resolve any supplier issues, including quality discrepancies and delivery delays
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking
- Analyze purchasing trends and adjust procurement plans accordingly
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics and finance, to ensure smooth purchasing processes
- Provide support in supplier audits and assessments as required
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare reports on cost analysis, supplier performance and purchasing trends
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
Buyer Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in procurement, buying or supply chain roles preferred. Internships considered
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage supplier relationships and collaborate with internal teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
