Our client is seeking a skilled Firewall Engineer specializing in Fortinet to join their team. This role involves managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Fortinet security environments to ensure seamless operations and security compliance.
Fortinet Engineer Responsibilities:
- Perform updates, modifications, and policy changes on Fortinet firewalls
- Work closely with end users and manage support tickets to troubleshoot and implement changes related to FortiGate and FortiManager
- Operate daily within a Fortinet environment, including FortiGates, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer
- Apply strong troubleshooting skills to resolve firewall-related issues efficiently
- Demonstrate critical thinking by providing recommendations on security configurations, such as selecting secure vs. insecure ports
- Submit daily and/or weekly progress reports on completed and in-progress work
- Maintain thorough documentation of change management processes, configuration modifications, and troubleshooting steps
- Communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
Fortinet Engineer Requirements:
- NSE 4 certification or 5+ years of recent, hands-on Fortinet experience, specifically with FortiGate and FortiManager
- Minimum of 3 years of direct Fortinet firewall experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Ability to follow established processes and manage work queues efficiently
- Experience with FortiAnalyzer, FortiProxy, and FortiClient (VPN) is a plus
