The Accounting Manager will oversee all accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger activities and acquisition integration. This role requires someone with a deep understanding of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills and a proactive approach to improving processes and procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure financial operations can scale efficiently with the rapid growth of the organization.
Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and refine accounting procedures to create a scalable infrastructure that supports rapid growth through acquisition
- Lead the financial integration of newly acquired entities, ensuring smooth transitions and aligning accounting practices with corporate standards
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain and oversee all general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Design and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets, improve operational efficiency and ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Prepare for and manage internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to financial and regulatory compliance standards
- Build and mentor a growing accounting team, providing guidance on best practices, technical accounting issues and professional development
- Work closely with finance, operations and acquisition teams to ensure smooth post-merger integration and continuous improvement of financial processes
- Collaborate with private equity partners to provide accurate financial updates, analysis and KPI tracking related to acquisitions and overall company performance
Accounting Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with acquisition integration in a PE-backed or fast-growth environment
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and experience in financial reporting
- Experience managing financial aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including consolidation and post-acquisition financial reporting
- Proven ability to develop, implement and refine accounting processes and procedures in a rapidly changing environment
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar) and a strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor and develop accounting teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to evolving business needs
