As the Accounts Payable Supervisor, you'll oversee day-to-day AP operations, lead a team of 3–7 employees, and ensure timely, accurate processing of invoices and payments. You'll also collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues, support month-end close activities, and drive process improvements.
Accounts Payable Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of AP professionals, setting clear goals and managing performance
- Oversee day-to-day operations within the AP function, ensuring compliance with internal policies and controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to resolve billing, payment, and system-related issues
- Prepare reconciliations and ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and reporting activities
- Lead month-end, calendar year-end, and fiscal year-end AP close processes
- Support implementation and testing of system changes, and maintaining up-to-date training documentation
- Provide backup support across the broader AP leadership team as needed
Accounts Payable Supervisor Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable or Finance functions
- At least 1 year of experience leading a team or serving in a team lead capacity
- Strong working knowledge of SAP (required) and Concur (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, and a proactive “go-getter” mindset
- Experience with process improvement and a lean-thinking approach preferred
