The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the accounts receivable process, focusing on deduction resolution, chargeback analysis and ensuring timely collections. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities and a customer-focused approach.
Accounts Receivable Analyst Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment and resolve outstanding balances
- Prepare and analyze aging reports to track payment status and identify delinquent accounts
- Research and resolve customer deductions and chargebacks, including promotional, pricing and freight-related claims
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., sales, logistics, and customer service) to gather necessary documentation and validate claims
- Ensure proper documentation and root cause analysis to minimize future deductions
- Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy in receivables
- Generate and maintain reports on deductions, collections and overall accounts receivable performance
- Assist in the preparation of periodic cash flow forecasts
- Communicate directly with customers to address discrepancies and expedite resolution of unpaid invoices
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer contacts to enhance collaboration and payment timeliness
- Identify and implement improvements to AR processes, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness
- Leverage technology and tools to streamline workflows and enhance reporting capabilities
Accounts Receivable Analyst Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar role, preferably within the CPG industry
- Strong knowledge of deduction and chargeback processes
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAP is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
