The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is responsible for ensuring reporting deadlines are met and accounting records are maintained daily for accurate financial reporting across all diagnostic entities.
Accounts Receivable Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff.
- Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
- Oversee the cash application team to ensure customer payments are accurately applied in the customer ledger on a timely basis for a large customer base
- Assist in the preparation of accurate accounts receivable reports
- Respond to customer and field sales team requests (e.g., copies of invoices and statements, research unapplied or misapplied payments)
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies for cash application tasks, including creating relevant categories in the ticketing system, delegating requests, and ensuring timely follow-through
- Train and mentor staff
- Assist the Controller in providing ad hoc and regular reports as defined
- Create/update documented procedures and identify efficiencies whenever possible
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as required
- All other duties as assigned
Accounts Receivable Supervisor Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
- First-rate organizational skills and attention to detail
- Superior time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Proficient with MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred; Associate degree required
- 2-4 years of cash application experience preferred
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, continually changing/growing environment with proven ability to adapt and learn to support the business
- Previous experience in a shared-service environment is a plus
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and sit for long periods during a daily routine
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
