Assistant Controller Responsibilities:
- Assist the Controller in overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage month-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and financial reconciliations
- Support external audits, prepare ad hoc financial reports for the private equity firm, and ensure timely reporting
- Lead financial consolidation and integration of newly acquired businesses
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and reporting efficiency
Assistant Controller Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
- 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a private equity-backed or acquisition-heavy environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP, consolidations, and financial reporting
- Experience with audits and acquisition integration is highly desirable
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently in a lean accounting team
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Addison, IL
