Our client, a rapidly growing leader in the healthcare industry, is seeking experienced Benefit Verification Specialists to join their team. The ideal candidate will excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and have experience working with insurance verification and clinical staff.
As a Benefit Verification Specialist, you will be responsible for verifying patient insurance benefits and processing referrals/pre-certifications. You will work closely with both patients and insurance providers to ensure timely and accurate benefit verification.
Benefit Verification Specialist Responsibilities:
- Contact insurance payers to verify patient benefits and obtain necessary authorizations
- Gather and review clinical and coding information to support benefit verification
- Extend expired authorizations as needed for ongoing treatments
- Use insurance verification systems to confirm patient benefits, identify benefit maximums and manage coordination of benefits
- Notify providers of any additional documentation required for treatment precertification
Benefit Verification Specialist Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in benefit verification or related field
- Strong understanding of insurance requirements and payer processes
- Familiarity with registration, verification, pre-certification and scheduling procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Outlook and skilled in computer navigation
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
