Collections Representative Responsibilities:
- Contact customers by phone, email, or mail to collect overdue payments on accounts
- Maintain and update customer account records, including payment history and contact details
- Negotiate payment arrangements or settlements with customers in accordance with company policies
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing questions, concerns, and payment-related issues in a professional manner
- Document all communications and collection actions taken in the system
- Follow up with customers to ensure timely payments or payment plans are being adhered to
- Monitor and track overdue accounts and escalate delinquent accounts as needed
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve customer issues and ensure accurate account balances
- Stay updated on company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations
- Meet or exceed individual and team collection goals and targets
Collections Representative Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred
- 1+ experience in a collections role required
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to negotiate and problem-solve effectively
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage and organize multiple accounts simultaneously
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to remain professional and calm in difficult situations
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus, but not required
