Commercialization Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of various projects, including line extensions, packaging updates, productivity improvements, and manufacturing network changes
- Work closely with internal teams, including Marketing, Manufacturing, Finance, R&D, Procurement, and Packaging Engineering to drive initiatives forward and ensure smooth execution
- Develop, manage, and execute detailed project plans and timelines, tracking milestones, risks, and opportunities to ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Provide regular project updates to senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommending corrective actions to keep projects on track when necessary
- Ensure team members meet deadlines and hold them accountable for delivering assigned tasks.
- Effectively manage resources, communicate priorities, and drive the timely execution of strategically important projects
- Actively participate in and support the Stage Gate process to ensure all projects meet the necessary requirements at each stage
- Gather feedback and provide recommendations to improve the commercialization and Stage Gate processes. Support the development and implementation of process enhancements
- Evaluate and recommend go/no-go decisions for strategic initiatives, ensuring that only viable and valuable projects move forward
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously, working efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines
- Perform other special projects as needed to support business goals
Commercialization Project Manager Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in project management within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, preferably with direct experience in commercialization or NPD
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to drive cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
- Experience in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
- Familiarity with Stage Gate or similar project management methodologies is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- This position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence at the office in Chicago, IL Tuesdays through Thursdays. Some travel may be required as needed
This is a contract opportunity, will last until the end of the year, and the hourly rate is $55-65/hr. Candidate must be willing to come onsite to Chicago 3 days every week.
