Our client is currently seeking a talented Compensation Consultant to join their team for a project based in Nashville, TN. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with transportation companies to analyze, design and implement competitive compensation programs aimed at attracting and retaining top talent in the industry. This project has a 6-month duration, with the potential for extension based on project requirements and performance.
Compensation Consultant Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of transportation organizations' existing compensation structures, including wage analysis and industry benchmarking
- Engage with transportation company leadership and HR teams to gain insight into business objectives and develop compensation strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Design and recommend competitive compensation packages for various roles within the transportation sector, considering factors such as driver shortages, regulatory requirements and market trends
- Develop and implement job evaluation processes tailored to the unique demands of the transportation industry, ensuring fairness and consistency in pay practices
- Provide expert guidance and support to transportation clients on compensation-related matters, including driver pay incentives, performance-based rewards and compliance with industry regulations
- Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to communicate findings, recommendations and implementation plans to transportation company stakeholders
- Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging trends and regulatory changes impacting compensation and benefits practices in the transportation sector
Compensation Consultant Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in compensation consulting or a similar role, with a focus on the transportation industry
- Solid understanding of compensation principles, practices and methodologies relevant to transportation companies
- Experience with transportation-specific compensation surveys and analysis
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with transportation industry stakeholders
- Proven project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting compensation practices in the transportation sector is desirable
