Demand Planner Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts by analyzing historical sales, market trends and promotional plans
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to gather input on upcoming product launches, campaigns and events impacting demand
- Adjust forecasts regularly to account for changing business conditions or unforeseen factors
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs
- Identify and address demand-supply imbalances, working with supply chain and production teams to resolve issues
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, production and finance, to align forecasts with operational plans and budgets
- Act as a point of contact for resolving issues related to stockouts, overages or delivery delays
- Analyze and report on forecast accuracy, sales trends and inventory performance
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in demand planning and inventory management
- Utilize demand planning software and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy
Demand Planner Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting or a similar role. Internships considered
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets
- Proficient in demand planning software and tools (e.g., SAP IBP, Oracle Demantra) and advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Adaptable and proactive in responding to changing business needs
- Strong business acumen and a results-driven mindset
