Director of Corporate Accounting Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process, ensuring accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting
- Manage, mentor and build out a team of 4 accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Play a key role in new project work, including financial system upgrades, process enhancements and high-impact initiatives across the organization
- Prepare, review and deliver financial statements in compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership
- Partner closely with teams across finance, asset management and operations to align on company-wide goals and initiatives
- Lead the external audit process and maintain strong relationships with auditors and external stakeholders
- Implement and enhance internal controls, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- Collaborate on ad hoc financial analysis and special projects that drive the company’s strategic vision
Director of Corporate Accounting Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- 6+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or within private equity, real estate or financial services
- Proven experience managing and developing a team, with a passion for leadership and mentorship
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work across departments
