We are partnered with an international manufacturing firm that is seeking an experienced Director or Operations for one of their largest facilities in the United States.  This person will be responsible for developing and managing the operational strategies of the business. Lead the Materials & Supply Chain team, Production Operations team, Project Engineering team and Distribution Warehouse team to establish continuous improvement strategies and goals including cost, quality and delivery measures.

This role will offer a comprehensive relocation package if candidate is not local. 



Director of Operations Responsibilities:
  • Lead initiatives to meet key metrics in safety, quality, efficiency and delivery, with a strong emphasis on maximizing capacity utilization and supporting operational effectiveness
  • Contribute to developing strategic goals during the business planning process and execute these strategies to evolve operations in alignment with sustainable business growth objectives
  • Collaborate closely with divisional and business unit leaders to identify and prioritize critical customer needs. Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction through an in-depth understanding of business functions and sales channels
  • Identify, justify and oversee capital investments in equipment and facilities to increase production capacity and efficiency. Align these investments with short- and long-term demand profiles to support sustained growth
  • Establish a comprehensive cost-saving plan, including strategic sourcing initiatives, which aligns with the division's growth goals and operational efficiency
  • Drive adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies to enhance production cost-effectiveness, quality and efficiency, with a preference for experience in automated manufacturing processes
  • Prepare, manage and monitor the operations budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals while identifying areas for improvement in cost management
  • Work with engineering, production, finance and supplier teams to implement initiatives aimed at improving product line margins. Foster collaborative efforts to address variable costs and enhance direct margins
  • Develop and execute strategic plans that prioritize significant gains in safety, quality and operational efficiency to achieve annual business targets
  • Lead the team in leveraging both internal and external resources to solve challenges related to equipment, tooling, facilities, and processes, ensuring minimal operational disruptions
  • Champion efforts to attract, develop and retain top talent, ensuring a steady pipeline of skilled employees to meet future business needs
  • Collaborate with support staff and Human Resources to provide a strong, well-rounded foundation across all facets of business operations
  • Mentor work teams to instill a proactive, positive outlook, personal accountability and commitment to superior quality standards
  • Provide leadership to foster a responsive, adaptable workforce capable of excelling in a fast-paced and evolving organizational environment

 Director of Operations Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of experience in a combination of operations, supply chain, logistics and maintenance
  • Proven results with leadership development of team talent
  • Proven track record of leadership, demonstrating a positive attitude, personal accountability, coaching skills, effective listening skills, approachability and resolution of issues/conflicts in a timely matter
  • Proven P&L experience with strong budgeting, planning capabilities and understanding of inventory management
  • Must be extremely customer focused, understanding how the business functions link together to support the customer (i.e. marketing, engineering, supply chain, sales and service)
