This role is ideal for a recent graduate or an individual with some accounting experience who is looking to grow their career in the real estate industry. The Entry-Level Staff Accountant will work closely with the Senior Accountant and the Controller to ensure the accuracy of financial records, assist in financial reporting and perform various accounting tasks.
Entry-Level Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform bank reconciliations and monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant data and analysis
- Help with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant accounting regulations
- Assist in audits by preparing documentation and providing necessary support
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
Entry-Level Staff Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Experience in accounting or finance; experience in real estate or property management is a plus
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar) is an advantage
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
