Our client, a software tech company, is seeking an Event Marketing Manager to lead the strategy and execution for global event initiatives—from large-scale industry conferences and speaking engagements to intimate VIP dinners and everything in between. You will be responsible for building brand awareness, driving lead generation, and creating memorable experiences for prospects and customers alike.
This is a contract position covering a mat leave, with a duration of 3-6 months. It will require an in-office capacity in Chicago and up to 20% travel to the event locations. 

Event Marketing Manager Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage end-to-end event strategies aligned with marketing and sales goals, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid events
  • Collaborate with content, design, and demand gen teams to plan and execute multi-channel promotional campaigns that drive event awareness and registration
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop event content, including session topics, speaker briefs, booth messaging, presentations, and on-site materials
  • Manage relationships with event organizers, speakers, and partners to maximize visibility, ensure speaking engagements run smoothly, and secure sponsorship opportunities
  • Optimize the full attendee journey—from pre-event communication to onsite engagement and post-event follow-up—to ensure an exceptional brand experience
  • Own the event budget from planning through reconciliation, ensuring all initiatives are executed on time and within budget

Event Marketing Manager Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in event marketing, preferably within the software, SaaS, or tech industry
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Experience building and managing integrated event campaigns, including digital promotion and lead capture
  • Proven track record of managing event budgets and negotiating vendor contracts
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; able to work cross-functionally and represent the brand externally
