LaSalle Network has partnered with a leading healthcare nonprofit dedicated to advancing public health and improving healthcare outcomes. Their organization is committed to making a positive impact through education, advocacy and innovation in healthcare. In doing so, they are seeking an experienced Executive Communications Director to join their dynamic team.

The Executive Communications Director will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering the voice of a prominent healthcare leader within their organization. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy, with a primary focus on speechwriting, public appearances and high-level messaging. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in healthcare communications and a proven track record of working closely with senior executives to craft impactful narratives.


Executive Communications Director Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with a high-profile doctor to develop and refine speeches, presentations and other public communications
  • Craft clear, compelling and persuasive messages that align with the organization's mission and resonate with diverse audiences, including healthcare professionals, policymakers and the general public
  • Manage the end-to-end process of speechwriting, from initial concept and research to final delivery, ensuring accuracy, tone and alignment with the executive's voice and organizational goals
  • Support the executive in media engagements, including preparing talking points, conducting media training and coordinating interviews
  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan that elevates the executive's profile and the organization's brand within the healthcare sector
  • Collaborate with the broader communications team to ensure consistency and coherence across all organizational messaging and communications efforts
  • Monitor industry trends, public policy developments and news cycles to proactively identify opportunities for thought leadership and engagement
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including media, industry influencers and partner organizations, to enhance the organization's visibility and impact

Executive Communications Director Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in executive communications, speechwriting or public relations, with a focus on healthcare
  • Proven experience supporting senior executives or high-profile individuals in a communications capacity
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with a keen ability to adapt style and tone to different audiences and platforms
  • Strong understanding of healthcare policy, public health issues and the broader healthcare landscape
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with diverse stakeholders
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and to work outside regular business hours as needed
  • This position is open to candidates based in Chicago, IL or Washington, D.C. All employees are expected to be in the office at least two days per week
