This person is responsible for developing and revising the product and ingredient specifications for the purposes of labeling, procurement accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
The Food Specifications Coordinator will work with cross-functional teams on bringing in new ingredients and recipes, and working with Product Development to continuously improve internal processes.
This is a 6-month contract opportunity (paid as W2), full-time hours, and fully remote. Living in the Chicagoland area is preferred, but this candidate can be remote anywhere in the U.S.
Food Specifications Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Works closely with cross-functional teams (product development, regulatory, commercialization, ingredient procurement, food & safety, and quality) to complete daily activities.
- Understand and implement specification data quality standards.
- Analyze supplier documents to ensure there are no discrepancies in data within Internal Specifications.
- Makes needed revisions to specifications in a timely manner.
- Assist the product development process (new and reformulated products) to ensure regulatory and business requirements are met.
- Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Food Specifications Coordinator Requirements:
- B.S. in Science, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field required
- Organized, detail-oriented, and excellent technical writing skills
- 1+ year experience in food industry
- 1+ year experience within Regulatory, Quality, or Research and Development, CPG industry preferred
