The Grant Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of grant funding, including budgeting, reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience in grant management.
Grant Accountant Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of grant accounting, including budgeting, invoicing and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations related to grant funding
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for all grants
- Monitor grant expenditures and prepare periodic financial reports for stakeholders
- Assist with grant proposals, including budget preparation and cost allocation
- Collaborate with program managers to ensure effective financial management of grants
- Conduct audits and prepare documentation for external audits as necessary
- Provide training and support to staff on grant accounting procedures and policies
Grant Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on grant management preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP and applicable regulations regarding grant funding
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage multiple priorities
