LaSalle Network is seeking a Human Resources Generalist – Benefits to join one of our clients in the non-profit sector. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional passionate about employee benefits, compliance, and fostering a positive staff experience. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by educating employees on benefits, managing enrollment processes, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and organizational policies. 

HR Generalist – Benefits Responsibilities:
  • Educate new and existing employees on benefits offerings through informational sessions and communication materials
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, claims issues, and plan options
  • Manage the annual open enrollment process, including preparation, communication, and enrollment support
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, ensuring accurate and timely processing
  • Maintain accurate employee benefits records in the HRIS system, ensuring deductions are up to date
  • Communicate and implement benefit changes, including those related to position adjustments or leaves
  • Track and report benefit and transition metrics to senior leadership
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, FMLA, COBRA, and other relevant regulations
  • Draft and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with company policies and employment laws
  • Leverage HRIS automation features to maintain accurate employee records
  • Protect the interests of employees and the organization by ensuring adherence to policies and regulations
  • Provide guidance to employees on HR and employment policies
  • Support the organization’s DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) initiatives
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned

HR Generalist- Benefits Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits programs and relevant regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and DEIB principles
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems or the ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on creating a positive staff experience
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • 2+ years of HR experience
  • HR certification required (or must be obtained within 12 months)
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and a TB test
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance, with the ability to travel to various office locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Forms, and Teams) and Adobe Pro
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus!
