Are you passionate about building HR functions in a dynamic and evolving environment? We're seeking an HR Operations Manager to join our client's growing team. This role is perfect for someone with broad HR generalist experience, who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and enjoys working independently to create and implement HR strategies and programs. You'll manage processes and projects, but not people.
HR Operations Manager Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and managing HR operations across the company
- Oversee and develop HR policies and programs, including benefits, compensation and employee relations
- Support new initiatives, such as a benefits program rollout across our portfolio
- Work closely with local managers, who are the first point of contact for day-to-day employee issues
- Provide strategic guidance on escalated HR issues, such as terminations or investigations
- Collaborate with our HR payroll admin and other departments to streamline processes
- Lead the development of a more structured HR helpdesk function (inbox management, SLAs)
- Manage HR projects, with potential for people management as the team grows
- Support the business with HR strategy development, focusing on scalable solutions for our client’s growing workforce
- Primarily work with a nonexempt hourly workforce, helping to create programs and policies tailored to their needs
HR Operations Manager Requirements:
- 3+ years of broad HR generalist experience, ideally in a startup, PE-backed or multi-company structure
- Experience developing benefits plans, working with brokers and overseeing open enrollment
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a comfort level in managing ambiguity and creating solutions from scratch
- Previous experience in hospitality, travel or similar industries would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Paylocity or similar HR systems is a plus but not required
- Hands-on HR professional who can help build out HR functions from the ground up
- Comfortable with hybrid work (Mon-Wed in-office) and able to flex as needed based on business demands
- Self-starter who enjoys working independently but can also collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
