We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Insurance Follow-Up Representative to join our client’s team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing insurance claims and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding accounts. Your efforts will contribute to maintaining strong relationships with insurance providers and ensuring revenue optimization for the organization.
Insurance Follow-Up Representative Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze outstanding insurance claims to determine appropriate follow-up actions
- Contact insurance companies via phone, email or online portals to resolve claim discrepancies or delays
- Monitor claims for compliance with insurance policies and regulations
- Research and correct billing errors to ensure proper reimbursement
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of claim status, communications and outcomes
- Collaborate with internal departments to address claim issues or obtain necessary documentation
- Escalate unresolved claims to supervisors or management as needed
- Stay updated on insurance policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
Insurance Follow-Up Representative Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance follow-up or a related role
- Knowledge of insurance claim processes, CPT codes and medical terminology is a plus
- Proficiency in using billing software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
