As a Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of the property portfolio. You will work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, preparation of financial statements and compliance with relevant regulations. Junior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, verify accuracy and ensure timely payment to vendors and suppliers
- Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Assist in the preparation of tenant invoices and rent statements
- Monitor tenant payments, identify delinquencies and follow up on outstanding balances
- Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in cash transactions
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and relevant regulations
- Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation and support
- Assist with administrative tasks related to property management, including filing, record-keeping and data entry
Junior Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of property management accounting
- Previous accounting or internship experience is a plus but not required
