LaSalle Network is looking to hire an entry level Food Scientist/ Lab Technician for one of our top clients in the food and ingredients space. We are looking for a candidate with 2-3 years of lab experience in food ingredients, processing or testing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and proficiency in applying basic math concepts!
This is a fully onsite position in Schaumburg, IL (5 days a week, full-time hours).
Lab Technician Responsibilities:
- Weigh, label and store materials; report deviations
- Support product testing and development of ingredient applications
- Perform physical and chemical testing; prepare sensory samples
- Operate lab equipment (e.g., water activity meter, moisture balances)
- Maintain lab cleanliness and inventory management
- Ensure compliance with cGMPs, food and human safety standards
- Collaborate on projects and communicate test results clearly
- Support team members with testing and special projects
Lab Technician Requirements:
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and teamwork
- Strong math skills
- Ability to occasionally lift packages and product around ~25 lbs.
