Labor Relations Specialist Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships across the organization and collaborate with management to effectively manage labor relations functions
- Address labor relations matters, including union grievances, conflict resolution and collective bargaining negotiations
- Serve as a liaison between the organization and labor unions, ensuring open communication and productive relationships
- Provide guidance on labor laws, union contracts and workplace policies to ensure compliance and support
- Conduct investigations into labor-related disputes and recommend appropriate resolutions
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies for employee engagement, workplace effectiveness and labor relations
- Support management in change management initiatives related to labor agreements or organizational adjustments
- Partner with HR teams to ensure alignment of labor relations policies with broader company goals and initiatives
Labor Relations Specialist Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field is strongly preferred
- Previous experience in labor relations, including union negotiations and grievance handling, is required
- Strong understanding of labor laws and collective bargaining agreements
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with unions, employees, and management
