Our client is seeking a Labor Relations Specialist to join their human resources team in a remote position. The ideal candidate must be located in Illinois and will focus on managing labor relations, handling union matters and ensuring compliance with labor laws and policies.

Labor Relations Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and collaborate with management to effectively manage labor relations functions
  • Address labor relations matters, including union grievances, conflict resolution and collective bargaining negotiations
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and labor unions, ensuring open communication and productive relationships
  • Provide guidance on labor laws, union contracts and workplace policies to ensure compliance and support
  • Conduct investigations into labor-related disputes and recommend appropriate resolutions
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies for employee engagement, workplace effectiveness and labor relations
  • Support management in change management initiatives related to labor agreements or organizational adjustments
  • Partner with HR teams to ensure alignment of labor relations policies with broader company goals and initiatives

Labor Relations Specialist Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in labor relations, including union negotiations and grievance handling, is required
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and collective bargaining agreements
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with unions, employees, and management
