LaSalle Network has a great direct hire opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer located in Loves Park, IL. The growing company has continuing to expand with larger growth opportunities. This position has a great schedule of 4-10's! 

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Assist all department Team Leads in evaluating manufacturing capabilities and developing corrective action for problems relating to production and quality of materials
  • Recommend revision of methods of operation, alterations in equipment layout and other changes considerations to facilitate production processes or improve standards
  • Provide support to the Maintenance Department in troubleshooting, problem solving, fabrication, assembly, and repair of new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for industrial equipment and machinery such as; power equipment, servo systems, robots, robot controllers, programmable controllers, machine tools and other systems, for integration into the manufacturing process
  • Responsible for designing and trouble-shooting of tooling and fixtures
  • Perform other reasonably similar duties and responsibilities as may be required in the performance of the position and as assigned by the Value Stream Manager
  • Develop capital projects in accordance with GKN guidelines from idea to full implementation including but not limited to; gathering quotes, tracking timelines, develop and follow budgeted spending, coordination with cross-functional team and ensuring each project is safely executed and sustained
  • Evaluate current processes and develop techniques for improving the safety of our workforce, productivity/efficiency of our resources and quality of our finished goods
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability and willingness to cover off-shift for occasional vacation coverage

Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:
  • Engineering or Technical Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four year college or university is preferred – will also look at experience
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Automation experience desirable
  • Knowledge and experience with LEAN Enterprise required
  • Ability to interpret business plans and meetings to generate specific actions for Maintenance Techs
  • Ability to work in a Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations is required
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals is required
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, co-workers, shop personnel, clients, customers, and general public is required
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions is required
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables is also required
  • Experience with broaching, and spline rolling machines a plus
  • Experience with manual machine processes and capabilities a plus
