Medical Claims Specialist Responsibilities:
- Assist clients’ employees directly with their benefits claims submissions and issues
- Respond to benefits inquiries from clients’ managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
- Facilitate clients’ new-hire onboarding calls
- Enroll clients’ employees with carriers and processes life status changes
- Process and administer leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork including medical, personal, disability and FMLA
- Assist with the open enrollment process
- Perform quality checks of benefits-related data
- Provide necessary reports as requested
Remote Medical Claims Specialist Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience working in group benefits
- Clear understanding and working knowledge of claims processing, denials and appeals processes including ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills that demonstrate resourcefulness and attention to detail
- Concise and articulate communication skills as this position requires a high volume of calls and written interaction with clients, insurance carriers and doctors’ offices
- Organization, speed and accuracy are crucial for this role
- Ability to work independently as well as in a cross-functional team environment by collaborating with others and sharing tools, skills and knowledge
