We’re seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage and process U.S. and Canadian payroll operations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate payroll for a large and growing workforce, supporting a business that saves lives every day.
Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end biweekly payroll for U.S. and Canadian employees using ADP Workforce Now or similar systems
- Ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and direct deposits
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and address employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and efficiency
- Maintain payroll records in compliance with company policies and government regulations
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure seamless data integration and reporting
- Stay current on federal, state, and provincial payroll laws and regulations (U.S. & Canada)
- Support internal and external audits related to payroll and timekeeping
Payroll Specialist Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience, including both U.S. and Canadian payroll
- Strong working knowledge of ADP systems—preferably ADP Workforce Now
- In-depth understanding of multi-state U.S. payroll tax regulations and Canadian payroll standards
- Exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality with sensitive data
- Solid analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Must be local to the Geneva, IL area and able to commute to the office
