Payroll Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, training, and support to payroll staff; delegate tasks and review work for accuracy
- Assist as needed in processing biweekly payroll for accountants, staff, and contract workers across multiple U.S. jurisdictions
- Manage and maintain payroll records in accordance with legal and firm requirements, ensuring accuracy and data integrity
- Oversee timekeeping systems and ensure proper integration with payroll software (ADP)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including wage and hour laws, tax filings, and garnishments
- Act as liaison with HR and Finance teams to coordinate benefits deductions, bonuses, new hires, terminations, and LOAs
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism, maintaining a high level of confidentiality
- Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Payroll Supervisor Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
- 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, including FLSA, multi-state taxation, and benefits administration.
- Proficient with payroll and HRIS systems; advanced Excel skills a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or FPC certification a plus.
