LaSalle Network has partnered with a leading manufacturer seeking an experienced Plant Controller to join their Wheeling, IL facility. This role is crucial in managing their plant financial operations and driving cost efficiency.
This Plant Controller will be required to be in Wheeling 5 days a week and have strong cost accounting experience. This role is budgeted for a salary of $112,000-$160,000 commensurate with experience, with additional bonus potential. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of manufacturing costs and the ability to work closely with operations to drive financial performance. This candidate will report to the CFO but work closely with the plant GM and site controller.
Plant Controller Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of plant financial operations
- Lead cost accounting processes, including analysis of COGS, BOM, purchase price variance and labor time and variance
- Develop and maintain standard costs for products
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to operations team
- Oversee inventory valuation and physical count processes
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Implement and maintain internal controls
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
- Collaborate with corporate finance and other departments as needed
Plant Controller Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred
- 6+ years of experience in a plant/manufacturing environment
- In-depth cost accounting experience with strong understanding of COGS, BOM, purchase price variance, labor time and variance
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Must be willing and able to work hands-on and “in the weeds”
- Must be able to be onsite at the Wheeling location 5 days per week
- Strong cost accounting background required
