Procurement Specialist Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers to procure raw materials, packaging and other goods essential for production
- Evaluate supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality standards, delivery schedules and pricing agreements
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier capacity to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics and quality assurance, to align procurement activities with company objectives
- Prepare and issue purchase orders while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements and inventory levels in the procurement system
- Resolve issues related to delivery delays, quality discrepancies and other supplier-related concerns
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives and contribute to the development of long-term supplier partnerships
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement, such as cost savings, supplier reliability and inventory levels
Procurement Specialist Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the food or manufacturing industry
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to establish and maintain supplier relationships
- Proficiency in procurement software and systems such as SAP, Oracle, or other ERP tools
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers
- Knowledge of industry best practices, market trends, and compliance standards in procurement
