Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
- Conduct or support the inspection and audit requirements as defined in the APQP and PPAP processes. This includes the inspection of products in the Incoming, In-process, Final and Safe Launch areas as needed
- Perform dimensional analysis as required
- Address internal and external concerns, assure proper containment of suspect materials, support the root cause and corrective action process and validate those actions when directed
- Perform internal audits (ISO and Process) as directed by the Quality Manager. 5. Facilitate and perform the APQP and PPAP processes. Facilitate review of supplier PPAP, ISIR, Deviation requests and SCAR’s for disposition – work with relevant teams to address issues or support next required steps
- Identify, define and procure new or required gauging as identified in the PPAP process
- Perform product sorting and certification processes as needed including on-site at the customer when required
- Support the QA department, EI and PVD board requirements
- Support continuous improvement activities per direction. 10. Support the organization where needed with the training and awareness requirements associated with any of the above
Quality Engineer Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience
- Metal Working, Machining, Welding and Assembly experience desired
- Six Sigma or Lean experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of SPC a plus
- Significant experience using or being a part of the APQP process
- Significant experience in the calibration and maintenance of hand gages
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experienced in the generation of work instructions
- Significant knowledge with respect to ISO 9001:2015, and supporting 3rd party audits
- Internal Auditing experience is a must
- Working knowledge of dimensional layout, including hand-tools and CMM applications
- Working knowledge of blueprints, GD&T, and other design specifications
- Applied knowledge of root cause and problem-solving methods
- Need to become proficient in 4th Shift, as needed to perform quality related inventory transactions, and initiate “Need to Inspect/Hold” situations. 15.Significant Customer interface (Agricultural customers a plus)
- Supplier Interface a plus
- Proficient at preparing, submitting and maintaining PPAP’s, Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA’s, Control Plans, Capability Studies, R&R Studies (MSA), Dimensional Layouts (familiar with traditional hand gages, CMM w/PC DMIS a plus)
- Must be a hands-on, do what it takes to get the job done, team player
- Bachelor’s degree in a Quality or Engineering related field preferred or five years applied experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
