Our client is looking for a Regional Controller to ensure accounting records and processes adhere to GAAP standards, support SOX compliance and uphold all company accounting policies. As a key partner to the Plant Manager, this position provides essential cost analysis and KPI reporting to guide daily operations and strategic planning for the facility.
Regional Controller Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting operations for the Georgia Region, including the review and improvement of plant accounting procedures
- Lead and manage the local Accounting team, ensuring their work aligns with company standards
- Perform monthly reconciliations of all asset and liability accounts to maintain accurate financial records
- Facilitate the resolution of both internal and external audit inquiries
- Review, update and enforce SOX compliance procedures, ensuring strong internal controls are in place and consistently followed
- Oversee the monthly close process, meeting deadlines and ensuring accurate financial representation for the plant
- Prepare, review and distribute required financial reports for company-wide review
- Oversee completion and approval of all location-based tax returns
- Manage capital expenditure records, prepare monthly reports and close projects in compliance with GAAP, as coordinated with Corporate Accounting
Regional Controller Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
- 5+ years of comprehensive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Solid understanding of internal controls, with proven analytical and investigative abilities
- Proficiency in accounting and inventory control, budgeting, Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems. Experience with JD Edwards is preferred
