We are seeking an experienced Reimbursement Specialist to join our clients' healthcare finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, coding, and reimbursement processes with expertise in Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRF), Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACH), or Outpatient (OP) settings. This role is critical in ensuring accurate claim submissions, timely reimbursements, and compliance with payer guidelines.

Reimbursement Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Review, process, and submit claims for IRF, LTACH, or OP services in accordance with payer requirements
  • Ensure accurate coding and billing practices to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials
  • Investigate and resolve claim denials, underpayments, and rejections by working with payers and internal teams
  • Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines specific to post-acute care settings
  • Assist in audits, appeals, and compliance reviews to ensure regulatory adherence
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure proper documentation supports billing and reimbursement
  • Monitor and analyze reimbursement trends and identify opportunities for process improvements

Reimbursement Specialist Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, medical billing, or revenue cycle management within an IRF, LTACH, or OP setting
  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, or related field preferred
  • Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems, medical billing software, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • CMS guidelines, payer policies, DRG/APC payment methodologies, and revenue cycle operations
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills
