Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements
- Manage cost accounting processes specific to manufacturing operations
- Oversee inventory accounting and costing methodologies
- Support annual audit process.
- Implement and maintain accounting controls
- Mentor and manage 1-2 junior staff accountants
- Provide training and guidance on accounting principles and procedures
- Review work of junior team members for accuracy and completeness
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains
Senior Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- CPA certification strongly preferred
- Proven experience managing and mentoring junior staff
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Cost accounting in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Inventory management and valuation experience a plus
- SOX compliance and internal controls experience preferred
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred
