The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing non-standard processes within the organization in this newly developed role. This role will ensure a seamless transition to the new parent company. This position supports the migration and stabilization of legacy accounting functions into the shared services center and reports directly to the key internal leaders. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week on-site in Brentwood, TN.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile migration-related issues within the accounting system
  • Monitor the execution of migration plans with a focus on integration into the shared services center
  • Address unapplied cash activity and backlogs for newly migrated entities, ensuring compliance with internal policies
  • Oversee Carrier Payables to ensure timely payments for migrated entities
  • Track and escalate issues related to newly migrated entities; maintain and report issue logs for resolution
  • Prepare manual and non-standard entries during the transitional phase before handoff to SFC
  • Provide feedback and process improvement recommendations to the SFC Integrations Senior Manager to enhance future Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Participate in optimization projects outside the scope of AIM migrations
  • Collaborate with external consultants to align and execute shared objectives
  • Foster cross-functional relationships with key departments, including Operations, IT, Treasury and other Finance & Accounting teams

Senior Accountant Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of experience in a corporate accounting environment
  • Proficiency in reconciling Cash, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Accounts Payable (AP) balance sheet accounts
  • Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments (e.g., Operations, Legal, IT)
  • Strong interest in continuous process improvement, both self-initiated and assigned
  • Experience with internal or external audits
  • Familiarity with accounting in the insurance industry
  • Basic knowledge of AIM
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
