Assistant Controller Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and inventory accounting
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to monitor and improve costing processes
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and company policies
Assistant Controllert Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Manufacturing or inventory-based industry experience highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Proficient in accounting software (SAGE, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Excel
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills
