LaSalle Network has partnered with a fitness company in Forest Park, Illinois who is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to join their dynamic accounting team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a smaller company environment and is eager to take on a variety of responsibilities. The Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in corporate accounting functions, supporting multiple entities and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role is 100% onsite and is budgeted for $80,000 to $115,000 per year.
Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage core general ledger accounting functions including posting journal entries, performing reconciliations and handling commission accruals
- Support the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting within a 10-day timeframe
- Assist in budgeting activities and manage sales tax returns
- Process payroll for 60 employees using Paylocity
- Oversee accounts receivable and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on best practices
- Participate in special projects, including input on ERP conversion and testing of new systems and SOPs
Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager Requirements:
- 3+ years of core general ledger accounting experience
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and LOOKUP functions
- Comfortable working in a smaller company environment; large company backgrounds are not preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels
- A willingness to learn and adapt, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
