This Senior Accountant role is budgeted up to a base of $105,000 with 10% target bonus and is hybrid downtown 3x a week.
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing complex financial reporting, supporting strategic financial initiatives, and ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity and compliance within our rapidly evolving organization.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop comprehensive financial reports for executive leadership and investment committees
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to support business decision-making
- Manage complex accounting treatments for diverse investment vehicles and financial instruments
- Oversee daily accounting activities, including general ledger management
- Reconcile complex financial accounts with high attention to detail
- Manage accounting close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Implement and maintain robust internal accounting controls
- Assist in the development and improvement of accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards
- Prepare and review tax-related documentation
- Support annual audit processes and interactions with external auditors
- Stay current with evolving financial regulations and accounting standards in the financial technology sector
- Perform in-depth financial modeling and variance analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide financial insights to support strategic business decisions
- Analyze financial performance across different business units and investment strategies
- Leverage advanced accounting software and financial technologies
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency
- Collaborate with IT and operations teams to optimize financial systems and reporting tools
Senior Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of accounting experience in financial services, investment firms, or technology-driven financial environments
- Time spent in public accounting highly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
Senior Accountant Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with alternative investment accounting
- Knowledge of derivatives and complex financial instruments
- Experience in high-growth, technology-focused financial environments
